RECIPES FOR DRY OR/AND MATURE SKIN

CLEANSERS

-Basic cleanser:
1 part white wax, 2 parts lanolin, 3 parts almond oil. In a double saucepan blend 1st two ingredients.Heat over low heat, beat well. Add almond oil gradually whiel beating, until well blended. Cool a little, pour into jars.
As an alternative, substitute cocoa butter for lanolin and add some rose oil to the mixture.
-Sweet almond and jojoba oil: massage gently, remove with warm cloth
-Papaya: mash and smooth over face, massage gently, remove

 

TONERS FOR MATURE SKIN

-Herbal: 1oz dried/3 big handfuls fresh FENNEL, LEMON BALM OR LIME FLOWER, 600ml water. Heat herbs in water slowly, tightly covered. do not boil, remove from heat, infuse overnight. Use as a regular toner. Keep refrigerated, use within 3 days.

TONERS FOR DRY SKIN

-Herbal: 1oz dried/3 big handfuls fresh ELDERFLOWER OR MARIGOLD, 600ml water. Heat herbs in water slowly, tightly covered. do not boil, remove from heat, infuse overnight. Use as a regular toner. Keep refrigerated, use within 3 days.

 

EXFOLIATORS

-Oats - soak in milk, gently massage over face.

MASKS

-Cucumber and yoghurrt: mashed together, add clay to smoothen the mixture. Leave 10 minutes, remove with lukewarm water. Good for sensitive, oily, mature skin.
-peaches, mashed: to refine skin texture and soothe
-melons, mashed: to refine skin texture
-honey and egg yolk: soothes, moisturises
-almond oil, olive oil, wheatgerm oil: soothes, moisturises
-milk, yoghurt, cream
-honey mixed with banana, peach, or apple
-butter mixed with strawberries: softening and astrigent
-fresh/sour cream mixed with mashed apricots
-cheescloth mask soaked in jojoba oil, apricot oil or honey

-rose (revitalising)
-camomile (calming, soothing, comforting)

OILS FOR DRY SKIN

-neroli
-camomile (calming, soothing, comforting)
-wheatgerm
-ylang ylang -carrot
