Making your own skin care products is not only fun, it can save a lot of money! Most of the things in these recipes you can find in your own fridge, but the herbs and essential oils you can buy at health food shops, organic food shops and the like. White wax, clay etc. you can find at pharmacies, or, if you're lucky enough to live in London, Neal's Yard shops stocks these types of products.

There are no recipes for moisturisers listed in these pages. This is because I recommend that you always use a moisturiser with a SPF 12 or higher, which obviously you cannot whip up with some honey and olive oil or whatever.

If you do want to make a moisturiser, here is a recipe:
1 tbspn each of almond oil, sesame oil and castor oil. Pierce 1-2 vitamin E capsules. Add to oils, mix well. Refrigerate.
However I recommend you only use this at night and not when you are going to leave the house.

At the end of each page you will find some suggested Essential Oils for that skin type. These oils can be added to face masks and moisturisers, or diluted in Jojoba oil, almond oil or peach kernel oil and used as a wonderful facial massage.

IF YOU ARE PREGNANT, Please read the table concerning Essential oils to AVOID during pregnancy which you will find on the Treatments page. It is very important to have this information if you are pregnant. Essential Oils are very potent and volatile substances and if used in the wrong way can cause damage to you or your unborn child. However they can also be of great benefit, but you must exercise caution and wisdom!

Now, go to it!
