RECIPES FOR OILY SKIN


CLEANSERS

-Sweet almond oil or jojoba oil: massage gentlly , remove with warm cloth
-gentle cleansing grains:
1cup rolled oats
1/2cup ground almonds
1tsp dried lavender or peppermint
Mix with 1 tsp natural yoghurt and 2 tsp honey. Keep refrigerated.

-Papaya, mashed: smooth over face, massage gently, remove.

 

TONERS

-Diluted pineapple juice -Herbal: 1oz dried/3 big handfuls fresh YARROW OR WATERCRESS, 600ml water. Heat herbs in water slowly, tightly covered. do not boil, remove from heat, infuse overnight. Use as a regular toner. Keep refrigerated, use within 3 days. -For spots: as above, but use BURDOCK, SORREL, THYME OR ELDERFLOWER

 

EXFOLIATORS

-Grapefruit and oatmeal: add 3-4 tablespoons of oatmeal to the juice of a grapefruit. Mix to thick paste. Spread on face and leave on 15 minutes, remove with warm water.

-Olive oil and salt: the oil binds the grains of salt, preventing them from damaging your skin so they can be used for their gentle abrasive action.

 

MASKS

-honey tbsp, mixed with 1tbsp yoghurt and enough almond meal to form a paste. Astringent and antiseptic mask.
-watermelon, cantaloupe, grape, any of these mashed makes a cooling mask
-Peaches, melons: texture refiners
-berries: softeners, astringent
-Oatmeal mixed with witchhazel: absorbs excess oil
-Cheesecloth mask soaked in orangeflower water, iced milk or white grape tonic: for oily, dull skin

-eucalyptus
-geranium
-bergamot
-ylang ylang
